Snefnug Studios
Welcome to Snefnug Studio! For all of you non-Scandinavians out there, "Snefnug" means "Snowflake" in Danish. My husband is a true Dane and when we got married, I wanted to include him in my artistic endeavors, so I asked him for Danish words for all kinds of things (Butterfly, Rainbow - you get the "drift). I finally asked him what was Danish for snowflake and he said, "Snefnug". I liked it. So now all of you know a little bit of Danish too! Have fun going through the site. As you can see, I paint alot of different subjects, and they are all transparent watercolor, so have fun browsing and above all, enjoy yourselves at Snefnug Studio.

It has been way too long……

Needless to say, since I haven’t updated this for – now a couple of years – gulp – a lot has happened since my last entry.  Ole and I returned to Boise, Idaho in September 2013 from my beloved France.  Along with re-entry issues, we got a divorce in 2014, I moved to an apartment and had to give up my adored Margaux, my/our black Standard Poodle, I did adopt a black and very smooth cat that I named M. Simon, built a little house in Eagle, Idaho and moved there in November of 2014.  In February 2015, I added a Shetland Sheepdog puppy that I named Epice (French for “Spice”) and in September 2015 my last family addition was a Red Standard Poodle puppy that got the name Rose’ d’Provence (otherwise known as Rose’).  I am now DONE with acquiring 4-legged family members :) I am still painting of course.  In 2015, my painting “Matin ll” was accepted into the Idaho Watercolor Society’s annual juried exhibition and made me eligible for Signature status – meaning that I can add the initials IWS (Idaho Watercolor Society) after my signature on any painting.  I also hold Signature status in the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (CLWAC) and the North East Watercolor Society (NEWS).  This year I was accepted into the Members only exhibition of the North East Watercolor Society which was a huge honor.  There are a few other things in the works that I can’t really talk about right now but if there is news I can share I certainly will.  I would appreciate any comments should you find me.  And I will be updating this on at least a monthly basis.  I am on FaceBook which is where I have been posting most of the work since 2014 so if you are on FB look me up….I have gone back to my maiden name so I will be “Kristin Ranney (Kiki)” on FB.  Thank you and Merci!!!
