The Artist
Kristin Dam is a contemporary watercolor artist who, with her husband Ole and dog Margaux, lives in Vallauris, France at the moment but maintains a house in Boise, Idaho. She studied figure drawing and etching at the Art Student’s League in New York City for many years before finally “discovering” watercolor 16 years ago. Since then, Kristin has had several one-woman shows across the East Coast and Midwest. Her work has won awards and been shown in juried competitions throughout the United States including the Art Show at the Dog Show in Wichita, KS; the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City, the Transparent Watercolor Society in Chicago, IL, the North East Watercolor Society in Connecticut and the Artist’s Professional League Grand Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. She has studied with international watercolor instructors Mel Stabin, Barbara Nechis, Frank Francese and Gloria Miller Allen all signature members of major watercolor societies in the United States. Additionally, she has been a Board Member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, a national organization committed to transparent watercolor, a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society. She is a Signature Member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club of New York and the North East Watercolor Society.
